About Forkright Films

I’m Josh Diaz, a Winnipeg-based videographer and editor. In 2019 I left the big-studio grind to start Forkright Films because I kept hearing the same complaint: “Great video is too expensive and all looks the same.” I wanted a to create a company that could shoot unique cinematic footage quickly, and meet clients where they are—whether that’s a national brand or a two-person nonprofit.

Unreserved creativity, clearly captured.

That line sums up our goal: approach every brief with an open mind and hand back videos that are effective, easy to share, and true to the story.

Why the name “Forkright”?

“Forkright” blends forthright—straightforward and honest—with The Forks, Winnipeg’s riverside landmark where the Red and Assiniboine meet. The name speaks to clear communication and local roots, reflecting our goal to bring ideas together at a creative crossroads and let every project flow with the same energy that defines our city.
