How to Buy a Second Transmitter - Rode Wireless Go II Microphone System

Rode's Wireless GO II microphone kits are incredibly popular these days and come in two varieties— a kit with one microphone transmitter and one receiver or a kit with two microphone transmitters and one receiver.

What should you do if you purchase a single microphone kit and later decide to convert it into a dual kit by buying another microphone?

Well, according to Rode, that's impossible as they do not sell just the microphone. They only sell the microphone as a kit with the receiver.

It is possible to purchase just the microphone. I will explain how.

If you're looking to buy the microphone, or any singular part for that matter, you don't contact Rode; you instead contact a rode distributor or an authorized repair centre. Here in Canada, that's a company called Audio Distributors International. They handle all of Rode's RMAs in Canada. They also distribute ATOMOS's products, so you know where to go if you have an issue with them.

Anyway, all you do is send them an email requesting the part.

In my experience, they were happy to comply, and I got a purchase authorization form emailed to me in about a day. And I filled it out with my payment and contact information. You still have to purchase the microphone. For me, it was about $100 dollars, including shipping.

A week later, the part arrived in the mail.

Since this microphone was purchased directly from the distributor, it comes in plain packaging – just a cardboard box and plastic bag.

However, the most important thing is that it works. I was able to avoid spending extra money and time buying the same product again unnecessarily.

That's the process. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments and check out my other videos.
