K&F Concept PD-100W Mini V-Mount Battery Review (Army Green)

K&F Concept keeps updating its mini V-mount line, and version 3 is here—a fresh army-green “PD-100W” that’s essentially the excellent V2 in a new colourway. Below are my field notes after several weeks of use.

Unboxing & First Impressions

  • Ships in a hard-shell case with light foam, USB-C cable (240 W-rated) and manual.

  • Metallic gun-metal green shell wrapped by an orange rear plate—polarizing, but distinctive on set.

  • Fit & finish: anodised metal feels tougher than the plastic shells on many budget packs.

Build Quality

The metal band adds ~50-150 g over all-plastic rivals, but after six months of abusing the silver V2 I still have zero cracks or dents—worth the trade-off if you live on C-stands and concrete floors.

Ports & Smart Display

Pop the rubber port cover and you get:

  • USB-C (100 W) — charges the battery in < 2 hours or powers laptops/cameras.

  • USB-C (65 W) + USB-A (24 W) for phones, monitors, recorders.

  • 12 V barrel & 16.8 V D-tap for traditional cine gear.

  • BP/V-lock plate on the bottom for cameras & lights.

A side button wakes the colour LCD showing remaining capacity and live watt draw per port—great for juggling multiple devices.

New-ish “Flashlight” Feature

Hold the power button 3 s and a small white LED turns on—handy for rummaging through a dark kit bag. (Yes, it was on the silver V2… I just missed it.)

Performance in the Field

  • Mirrorless camera (Sony FX3) ran a full 10-hour shoot day with juice left.

  • 16-inch MacBook Pro: 0 → 100 % in a single charge.

  • Smartphone: 5–6 top-ups.

  • Re-charge: 0 → 100 % in ~1 h 55 m via 100 W USB-C PD.

No thermal throttling, and voltage remains stable even when pushing multiple ports.

Price & Value

At US $110–130 (before the 17 % code) this undercuts SmallRig’s 50 Wh mini and most 99 Wh competitors—while offering a sturdier shell and a 100 W PD port they lack.

Should You Buy It?

If you need a travel-safe 99 Wh V-mount with:

  • True 100 W USB-C PD in/out

  • Rugged metal styling (love it or hate it)

  • Smart display and flashlight

  • Price well under mainstream brands

…then the PD-100W Army Green is an easy recommendation. Unless you despise the colour, it’s the best value mini V-mount I’ve tested in 2025.
