Forkright Films Travels to Opaskwayak Cree Nation

At Forkright Films, we believe that every story deserves to be told with authenticity and heart. Recently, our team had the incredible opportunity to partner with a local organization to film a documentary in the stunning landscapes of Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN), The Pas, and Clearwater Lake in northern Manitoba.

This project allowed us to immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture and breathtaking scenery of the region. From the community stories shared in OCN to the historic charm of The Pas, and the crystal-clear beauty of Clearwater Lake, every moment was a reminder of why we do what we do.

Director of Photography, Josh Diaz takes a photo while filming at Clearwater Lake in northern Manitoba.

Our collaboration with the local organization was driven by a shared goal: to shine a light on the resilience, traditions, and natural wonders of the area. Together, we worked closely with community members to ensure their voices and perspectives were at the heart of the documentary.

For me, as Forkright Films' Director of Photography, capturing these moments was an inspiring challenge. The northern light brought every frame to life, and the warmth of the people added depth to every shot. It’s projects like these that remind us of the power of filmmaking to connect us to places and people in profound ways.

We can’t wait to share this documentary with you all. Stay tuned for updates as we bring this story to screens and continue our mission of telling stories that matter.
